Pastor's Corner

3rd Sunday of Easter

The Risen Lord walks with us in the troubled and trying moments of our lives: the death of a loved one, a bitter disappointment, an insoluble problem, pain, frustration and depression.

Just as the post Resurrection appearances of Jesus bolstered the faith of the apostles, Jesus wants us to also believe and rely on him in faith. Jesus teaches that his death and Resurrection fulfilled Scripture, and therefore with the eyes of faith and in the light of Scripture we see our life and its meaning. Our hearts also burn with love for God and our neighbor. And we recognize the Risen Lord in hearing the Word of God and in receiving the Eucharist. And, as Peter knowingly exhorts us in the first reading, our first step is to 'repent and be converted, that our sins may be wiped away.'
